As a member of our Government Contracts Compliance Team and reporting to the Government Contractor Compliance and Competition (GCC) Lead, you’ll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose driven GCC team as we advance our clients’ missions. You’ll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You’ll establish trusted partnerships across the firm and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today.

On our team you will serve as a counsel for the Government Contracts and Competition compliance programs. In this role, you will help with maintaining and enhancing the foundational elements of the programs, including policies, processes, training, and monitoring, as well as providing subject matter expertise to support internal investigations and M&A due diligence and integration. You will closely coordinate with sector-aligned government contracts attorneys to leverage business priorities and areas of transactional risk into best-of-breed compliance controls and enhancements. You’ll have the opportunity to lead high-visibility, high-impact initiatives and advise the firm’s senior leaders and employees firmwide on compliance risks and mitigation measures in your area of expertise. You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate, or government environment

  • Experience with government contracts compliance, including FAR, DFARS, and federal procurement statutes and regulations

  • Experience partnering closely with business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems, build relationships, and act as a trusted advisor

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and process owners to design and implement practical enhancements to address key risk areas and provide integrated and long-lasting solutions

  • Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered

  • Ability to translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions

  • Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics or KPIs, manage against program plans, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • J.D. degree

  • Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with contract negotiation, including federal or non-federal

  • Experience with antitrust or competition compliance in a professional services firm

  • Experience with government contract compliance requirements in a professional services firm

  • Experience or interest supporting M&A due diligence or post-merger integration with respect to evaluating and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures

  • Experience designing, implementing, executing, and enhancing compliance programs or sub-programs in areas such as gifts and business courtesies, anti-kickback, post-government employment restrictions, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, and competition and antitrust

  • Experience leading or managing program assessments and after actions, as well as assisting in design and implementation of comprehensive training and awareness initiatives

  • Experience developing key risk indicators, compliance monitoring activities, and leveraging data-driven insights to evaluate the impact of compliance initiatives

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience with practicing employment law in a law firm, corporate or government environment

  • Experience with advising clients and business partners at all levels of leadership on a wide range of employment-related matters, including disciplinary actions and separations, performance and behavior management issues, workplace safety and wellness concerns, military and medical leaves of absence, and accommodations

  • Experience with leading or advising on complex employment investigations of matters involving employee misconduct, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, conflict of interest, and violations of law or policy

  • Experience with drafting and enforcing non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and navigating through strategic and complex non-compete issues

  • Experience with supporting or advising on recruiting or recruiting compliance functions to minimize risk in the hiring process

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered, exercise judgment and discretion to navigate novel and complex issues, and advise when there is no clear path forward

  • Ability to translate technical advice into succinct, clear, and direct business solutions

  • Ability to execute against clear objectives, priorities, and success metrics

  • J.D. degree

  • Active bar admission in any state or the District of Columbia

  • Experience with government contracting, including with or in technology firms

  • Experience with large law firm and in-house roles

  • Experience with working under pressure, managing multiple complex matters simultaneously and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with ERISA, OFCCP, FLSA, or SCA counseling and compliance, executive compensation, merger and acquisitions due diligence, or international law
