Role Overview
Stoel Rives’ San Diego office seeks a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of construction litigation and/or contract drafting experience for the Firm’s Construction and Design section. You will partner with a team of experienced attorneys to work on negotiating construction and design contracts as well as a wide variety of litigation matters related to construction projects, both public and private.  The role is a significant opportunity to practice both important transactional and high-stakes litigation matters.

Members of our team can expect meaningful interactions with local, regional and national clients, involvement in major development projects, high-quality mentoring and training, and cross-office collaboration among Stoel Rives’ ten offices in seven states and Washington, D.C.

  • 3-5 years of construction litigation and/or contract drafting experience, including on industrial, multi-family, commercial/retail, and large residential development matters;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with the local business community;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Detail oriented ability to produce client-ready documents;
  • Good judgment, responsiveness, and perseverance;
  • Strong intellectual curiosity;
  • Self-motivation;
  • A commitment to client service and team success;
  • JD from an accredited university; and
  • Active membership in or commitment to applying for the California State Bar.
